Santorini

It felt as if had been waiting all my life for this moment, and now that it was finally here it didn’t feel as I thought it would have. It was my wedding I should be happy right? But I didn’t, I wasn’t happy I felt like I was making a big mistake, a big, big mistake. “Hey, you ready?” my mother asked jolting me out of my thought spiral. “Uh, yeah just a second” that’s when I decided to run for it. I dashed down the hallway thinking where I would go, where I would live but that didn’t matter, what mattered was the 10 million dollars sitting in the backseat of my car.  I didn’t think it would come to this but now that it had I wondered how stupid I had been, how oblivious and naive. Of course, he wanted the money he always had I just chose to ignore it all along.

“Where are you going, miss?” The front gate guard asked me. I had completely forgotten about old Gary “I just need to run a few errands” I said

“ A few errands on your wedding day?” he asked raising his eyebrow

“Yes! I need to bring the cake myself, the delivery boy is caught up in some traffic, you know LA  traffic gets the best of us” I said awkwardly giggling. When he still didn’t look convinced I said

“ you can call mike and ask him if you want to” that did it and he let me pass.

I realized I needed a break, The only place I could go to and not be judged would be my hometown Santorini Island, I hadn’t even visited after my falling out with Adrian 10 years ago. Adrian was my first love but that didn’t matter now. He chose not to come, he chose his business over me, well his loss. I planned to go to my best friends house, Zoey. I hope she had forgotten about the feud. The flight was almost full but thankfully I came at the right time.

As soon as I landed at the Santorini National airport I breathed a sigh of relief. Thank god I was finally here. But guess who was the first person I saw… “Hey! Elliana!”

“Hey….Adrian.”
